What
ACT & Plan Testing for 10th & 11th Graders; Seniors' Field/Activity Day 8:00 A.M.
When
4/23/2014
Where
Testing will be done in homerooms

On April 23rd all sophomores and juniors will be taking the PLAN and ACT assessments. In 10th grade all students will take the PLAN and in 11th grade, the ACT. Students took these assessments once in the fall as pre-assessments. Next week, students will be taking the post-assessments. The 11th graders will be taking a real ACT, which will be sent off to the company for scoring (in the fall it was a retired test, graded by the district). Students may choose to have their scores reported to specific colleges. This can be indicated on their pre-registration form, which was distributed in their English class. If no college(s) is selected, the tests will still be scored. If you so choose, the scores can then be sent at a later time through ACT. Due to the length of the tests, lunch will have to start significantly later than normal. All students are encouraged to bring a snack if they wish. Time will be given to eat during a test break and once testing has concluded.
The high school is in a unique situation because there is no assessment for 12th graders. In addition, most of the building will be occupied with testing. Therefore, on the 23rd all seniors are to report to the arena by 8:00 for a field/activity day. They will be supervised by staff and given a variety of options. Once testing has concluded (around 12:40) all students will report to either lunch or their 4th period class.
With the higher level of academic expectation that the state of Ohio has for all students, Fairfield is committed to monitoring college and career readiness for all of our students and using the information we receive from these assessments to improve our academic programming. You will receive information about your child’s results, and your child will be using the results from these assessments to set goals for the future. We will also continue to use data from these assessments to help make student placement decisions such as advanced and intervention programming.
