School Board Approves Administrative Changes, Hires New Assistant Principal at West Elementary

The Board of Education regretfully accepted the resignation of Aileen Ernst, principal at Fairfield Middle School/Creekside Middle School for personal reasons. Aileen had been in this leadership role for a year. Prior to this, she was an assistant principal at FMS for a year.  Please join us in wishing Aileen well with her future plans.

Replacing Aileen as principal at Creekside Middle will be Kari Franchini, who is currently director at the Academy. She is a former math teacher at FMS and FFS, and was also an instructional coach at FHS before being named assistant principal. Kari has been with the district since 2008.

Kyle Jamison, assistant principal at FHS is the new director at the Academy. Kyle has been with the district since 2011. He started as a math teacher at FHS, and was promoted to assistant principal in 2013.

Replacing Kyle as assistant principal at FHS is Aaron Blankenship. Aaron has been with the district for three years - as a social studies teacher at the Academy, and as dean of students. For part of this school year, he has been interim assistant principal at FHS.
Terrez Thomas photo
Terrez Thomas has been tapped to join the staff at West Elementary School as new assistant principal. He is currently serving as dean at Orion Academy in Cincinnati, a position he's been in since 2013. In that time, Terrez has been dean for grades 6-8, an interim principal, and is now dean for grades 3-5. His experience prior to Orion includes working for three years in an orphanage in Guaimaca, Honduras. Interestingly, he taught mathematics in Spanish for students in grades 7-11. He also participated in the Consortium of Overseas Student Teaching, where he
taught and coached in Cape Town, South Africa. Terrez is replacing Mark Rice, who will be returning to the classroom at the high school.
