Show choir combines singing, challenging choreography, dazzling costumes and live instrumentals to create high-energy shows.
Fairfield’s Crystal Classic has developed a reputation as one of the best show choir competitions in the U.S. This year, a stellar lineup of groups, nationally ranked choirs from four states - Indiana, Ohio, Mississippi, and West Virginia, travel to Fairfield to perform Broadway-quality shows as they vie for the much-coveted crystal Grand Champion trophy.
Additionally, crystal trophies will be awarded for best vocals, choreography, costumes, instrumentals, and show concept, as well as placement awards.
Local choirs competing include Loveland High School’s By Request, Edgewood High School’s Choraliers, and Hamilton High School’s Rhapsody in Blue. Fairfield’s Rhythm Express, Pure Elegance, and the World Champion Choraliers will also present exhibition performances of their award-winning shows.
The public is encouraged to attend the day-long competition, which starts at 8 a.m. and continues until approximately midnight. Tickets are available at the door. Admission is $14 for the preliminary daytime round from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; $12 for the evening finals from 7-11 p.m.; or $20 for an all-day pass.
